As the fruit of becoming whole = accepting all of myself, I desire:
to live and explore and evolve   L O V E   in my personal life
and to play my part in creating the conditions for Heaven-on-Earth
by radiating grate-full-ness, zest-full-ness and full-fill-ment
on the actors in my individual life-drama and on all human beings!

The HolyDay-Holiday of Yom Kippur [Sept. 21-22, 2007]

First Page

10 days before Yom Kippur I passed by my neighbor Eliyahu in "my" Wadi-of-Compassion.
He came from the synagogue with his Tallit wrapped around him.
After we had chatted a bit and he climbed up the opposite side of the wadi,
I dared to take a photo...

The holy day I spent with Efrat and Mika at Shoham,
since Immanuel, my son, was on flight and spent the day in New-York.
Towards the evening, the beginning of Yom Kippur, I took Mika in her stroller to the center of this new little town
with its so meaningful name: Shoham.

Mika walks up and jumps down the staircase
to the Cultural Center of Shoham
and its temporary -Yom Kippur - synagogue inside,

while below the people and bikers crowd the car-free town.

The next morning people again flock to the Cultural Center,
and Mika and I are among them,
except that this time we are inside,
where so many children play,
while their parents pray.

Integrated into the center there is a coffee-shop,
and usually the huge circus-like veranda is full of tables, chairs and people.
Now it's only Mika , who enjoys the empty space, on the one hand,
and looks for a narrow corner to hide in, on the other hand.

Don't do
and don't eat&drink
are the two instructions for this holyday/holiday,
"Don't do" applies also for Shabbat,
every seventh day the whole year round.
Still - eating and drinking is allowed on Shabbat,
a kind of inconsistency,
because even if most of the food has been prepared the day before
- and by whom? by the woman , of course -
some work is unavoidable,
to get the food to the table and the dirty dishes back to the kitchen.

Therefore, the "don't eat&drink"
is consistent with the period of 24 hours of "Don't do",
which symbolizes for me the unfathomable message
encapsuled in modern Godchannel's advice:
Cease Creating New Manifestations
!

Mika in the empty café demonstrates the don't eat&drink.
A father in his tallit, sons with kippas and daughters dressed in white , empty tables and chairs and Mika enjoying herself

Mika plays,
with grandma's funny hat, for instance,
(photographed by her with one outstretched hand),
or with her arm-rings and finger-ring

An empty sofa makes her want to lie down, rest and break the "Don't drink"

Finally we go outside and enjoy the unbelievable celebration of the car-less streets and squares

We walk home, always in the middle of the street!
What freedom!
We come to our own street, today rightly called "Ha-Mitzpaeh", "The View".
What I couldn't dare to photograph, were the many mothers and fathers,
who were sitting on the walls that separate houses and gardens from the side-way and the street.
A holyday-holiday of not-doing, not eating&drinking,
a day of playing on the street and meeting each other!

The road-signs are superfluous today

When we passed by one of the many enjoyment parks for children,
Mika expressed the freedom and the joy, which I was feeling too.
