I couldn't possibly take a picture of David Broza
who gave an excellent performance ,
together with different guest singers,
especially one impressive woman, Yasmin Levi, who sang in Ladino,
so I took pictures of my son and grandson enjoying themselves !!!!

The next morning - after an absence of 10 days from my home - I returned to Arad - for 3 nights.
My pomegranates has ripened - over-ripend, and most of them were full of worms.
II peeled out the good kernels from some ten fruits - a tedious job,
and the rest, more than ten fruits I had to throw on my compost heap..
I had been advised to envelop the fruits with paper, while still green.
But I chose to have a pretty sight for as long as the fruits would ripen,
even if then I would not be able to eat them.
And this time there is no symbolism involved at all!

Mika, who could not have known that this is the time of pomegranates,
had asked me, before I left for Arad, if I could bring her a fruit.
I indeed could salvage a little one without worms,
and she savors it kernel by kernel....

I want to close this sequence of 6 pages about Mika's Living

taken by me and edited by Immanuel for the front page of Efrat's newspaper
towards the Feast of Shavuoth 2 months ago:
Together with the daughter of Efrat's colleague who also resigned,
the two little girls are "bringing bikkurim" (first-fruits).
It is a time of three great changes for Mika's family:
- Efrat has resigned from her job as the producer of a Shoham local magazine
- Mika (4 2/4) will "graduate" from the toddler's kindergarden after 2 1/2 years
- Disillusioned by "village-life" - the family will leave Bet-Nehemya this month.
