Finale - September 24, 2011 - they still work on the main dish out of the three they have to prepare
"I decided that now I'll dedicate 3 minutes only to this Chapati, nothing else ... now I have to concentrate on this for a moment"




"there, this how it gets inflated, that's it ....I think, that all the air, which got inflated within this Chapati,
is the sigh of alleviation which I breathed out of myself"

"There are two more minutes"


Avi: "no time, there is pressure"

Elihav: "That's it, I'm done"


Immanuel: "I'm presenting a very good dish"
I'm totally whole with it"
"The flavor is deep, it s rich, I'm sure the judges will like this dish"

Elihav: "a minute before - I'm tasting the dish...and it seems to me, that I made a small mistake...
I sort of grasp that I've only a few seconds to present my dish"
"I could see the sting, but there was no time to correct"
"Seven, six, five .... four, three,
"four, three ..... two, one ..... guys the time is up"

And again come the waiters, listen to the descriptions of the dishes and take them, one by one, to the judges in their separate room
Avi to the waiter:
"We love you,
take care of the balance
over there"

"now it's no longer in your hands"

 


IMMANUEL'S Main Dish

Michal tastes: "Hmmm. Very tasty"
Chaim: "This dish tastes very good to me"


All judges praise Immanuel's dish.
Roshfeld: "fantastic.
There we have an original, precise dish


"Whoever did this
understood
what he was doing


ELIHAV's Main Dish
Elihav's dish was not savored by Roshfeld,
to say the least...
Michal: "It's not that it is not tasty."
Roshfeld: "the difference is that before this
you got a school of
how one works with "chestnut-squash".
Michal: "But I see something totally different here.
I see a flavoring which is oriental and hot.
I see contrasts in flavors........"
Yet the male judges agree ,
that this dish is not worthy.


AVI 's Main Dish

Roshfeld likes this dish very much: ....
"there's Avocado cream, maddening and fresh"

Eyal
"I feel that the flavor rises
to where my tears are located and lets them run down'
so much I'm moved."

There is no end to praising from all sides.

Michal:

"This is a dish on a very, very high level"



The Three prepare the Dessert
Elihav: "by God, I've no idea,
what kind of dessert I'm going to make'


"Today I won't work
in the conventional way,
I'll work like I design dresses:
I hold a fabric in the hand
and decide what to do with it.

"Imma-leh!
Even the ingredients look at each other:
'how are we connected to each other!'
I have to invent the new bite,
so go and create it!"

"Immanuel...." - "Yes?"

"Are you tuned in to the direction of a dessert?"
Immanuel: "Yes, I'm making fig-knaafeh"
"Wow "
"With coffee and cardamon"
"Imma!"

"Knaafeh
is one
of my strongest childhood memories. We would drive especially
to the Old City
in
Jerusalem,
Just to eat Knaafeh
in
the Old city."

Rachel's comment:
It is still (Oct. 4, 2011) shocking for me,
that Immanuel chose the Arab "Knaafeh" as his last dish in Masterchef,
and that it was this dish, which - on a physical , not metaphysical - level made him fail.
I'll tell more about this later.

"Now, coffee, I like very much, cardamon I like very much.
I think it's going to be wonderful with these figs... I have a very good feeling with this dish"

 

 

"That's a special dish...
Who makes it?
When do they make it?
Special cakes.
This is a traditional dessert
of Algerians."



There was sharp criticism
on the street
by the housewives
who are familiar
with these cookies
and said:
"If with such a simple dish
one can become a masterchef, then I could become one too."

 

Again the three Marathon-cooks are interrupted :
"dear friends - stop the work for a moment, please"

"From our standpoint the competition is still open and we are waiting for the dessert, and this will change the destiny of one of you"

"When looking at the board, I see, that I passed on to the first place, while Avi, who was the last, reached the second place.
Everything can turn around now. It's terribly close now"

And , indeed, the dessert will bring Immanuel to the last place.
