At home I asked Yael, our painter, to use the mini-coal I had kept for her, and draw something for me.

Our last meal

Going home - using four means of transport
Feet
Bus
Train
Car

One last time down and up the Wadi of Compassion:
they follow my daily routine, pick up stones
- "please only those that loosened themselves from the path" -
and fill up the "grave"

The bus from Arad to Beersheva is overfull, people are standing, but somebody kindly proposes his seat, Yael feels nauseated, Arnon photographs us. Close to Beersheva both he and Itamar find an empty seat. When did these children ever have the chance to travel in a public bus?

There is little time to reach the train. Still - when we get off the bus at the central bus- station we are stunned to see a poster with "The Daughters Nechamah" right in front of us. It was the new, extraordinary album of these three extraordinary singers, which Arnon had inserted in my computer together with the typing of all the English and Hebrew. texts. We hurry to the train-station - the security mechanism stops just when we arrive, the guard checks us manually. A long line in front of ticket-buyers, we are tense, but we make it to the train in the very last minute.

In the train to Ben-Gurion Airport there is plenty of room and we enjoy the travel immensely. Only Micha, who keeps calling, has trouble in reaching the entrance to the airport bus-station. But finally we all sit in his car - at first he drives to Shoham to let grandma off, then to Modi'in, to let Yael and Itamar off, and then to Mazkeret Batya, to let Arnon be reunited with Ayelet.....

Ayelet with her greater Family

On the Day of Independence , April 2002 Micha with Ra'ayah, Arnon and Ayelet and Grandma were invited to see the fire-work at Modi'in from the veranda of my daughter's flat. On the Festival of Shavuoth , on the other hand, three of Ronnit's children slept at Grandma's place, together with Ayelet and Arnon

Itamar and Yael were probably still asleep, while the three others played and painted in their pyjamas

When I began to become Tomer's "foster"-grandmother, for 4 1/2 months, he was joined by his four cousins on "Grandma-Days"
