Three stories
in a single newspaper about
the shades and the lights in three lives.
I don't read newspapers nowadays,
and as to the Israeli TV channels,
there isn't much in there which is relevant for me.
But there is one program, which compensates for all.
It is called: "Mishpakhah khoreget", a reality show in Channel 2,
which can be both: "Step-family" or "Aberrant/anomalous/deviational
family".
Since this Tuesday evening I was at Mazkeret
Batyah, busy with the Quartet,
I asked Ra'ayah,
my daughter-in-love, if she would watch the program.
"Oh , you like it too?
See the Ma'ariv newspaper of last Shabbat, "Seven Days",
there is an article about Gal Alon!"
I was eager to read it and did so before and after sleep.
"Thank you for giving me that article, it is outstanding!"
"Yes, isn't it? And there are two more things to look into.
Most of the time it's all garbage in the weekend newspaper,
and then suddenly they bring three good articles."
And she handed me the disc, on which she had recorded the program the night
before.
Back in the train I read every word about these three human beings,
who were whole enough with themselves to expose themselves to the public.
Two men, one woman,
two white, one black,
two famous, one will soon be.
A coacher, an actor, a body-guard.
What is common to all three, is
that all three experienced HELL,
where it is deepest,
and this for many years,
and all three slowly but surely set out on their path towards healing.
I was and am deeply moved , both by these people,
and by the fact, that the time has arrived,
when we are permitted to look into the innermost heart of people
in order to let us be encouraged in seeking our own healing.
