this is a pun that gets totally lost in English.
Language is petrofied philosophy!
A whole world is hidden in the fact,
that the word "yakhid" - individual and the word "yakhad" - together
have the same root.
Y is also a shortage for YHWH

Since I never came around to tell the history announced on this page,
I shall use the free space on it for inserting more of the old negatives
which I let scan recently.

That's what I viewed
from the window of my bus,
by day and before night,
when we first parked
in the Wadi,
which fit all the needed criteria,
of which I could think:

- not a Firing Zone of the army
- not a Nature Reserve

- far enough from human settlements
-not too far from human settlements

- no light-pollution
- no noise-pollution

- a pretty view,
so that guests would be attracted

 

 
During the first Chanuka
when my little granddaughter (2) visited me,
there was still nothing but the bus,

enough water in the two fiberglas tanks
(together 1500 liter),
enough gas in the two 12 liter containers,
enough solar electricity ,
and perhaps already a jeep,
(the money was donated by my friend Anke)

but no succah,
yes, not even the idea
of how a single succah would look like
and be made of,
leave alone the right composition of succahs,
which would take care of the balance
between Man and Nature.

When I no longer needed to reach town by bike (7 km), but had the luxury of a jeep,
Micha, my youngest son and a fan of mountain driving (bike, motorcycle, jeep)
[- see now - since Febr. 27, 2011 - the youtube video "brothers" with both sons -]
came to visit and took me down the Ramon Crater, teaching me jeep driving skills.
I don't know, what these red stones are and where we discovered them on such a jeep tour

The jeep would not drive through the Succayah,
unless equipment, mainly palm-fronds,
had to be brought nearer to where it was needed.

 

 

 

 

 

One of our very first guests
was a woman, who had become religious.
("Born" religious Jews
would not come to Succah in the Desert,
though no meat was served,
but solar electricity and gas was used on Shabbat....).

This was - I think - her sixth child, just born,
and called Yiska, which - she told me -
contains the same letters as "succah"!

 

 

 

As so often,
I'm sitting with a visitor
on the veranda of "Abraham"
(which was added, within half a day,
by Ram Eisenberg, for the Succot-Festival of 1990)


 

 

 

Guests in "Abraham"
(the man with the kippah may have been not too religious,
or it was a week-day, not a Shabbat),
In the back of him can be seen Judith, the hostess,
with my daughter's firstborn Jonathan, born April 1991.

By the way, the beautiful tables in "Abraham"
were the gift of guests
who owned a carpentry business!

 

 

 

These were friends,
who visited,
when we still didn't have
those wonderful tables:

Moshe Klein and Orna.

Moshe
was one of my most outstanding
"Angels on the Abyss"
at that time.


Children of guests or visitors enjoy the palm-frond covered gravel-heap.

I'm still glad, that Dani Kish, the inventor and builder of the succahs, convinced me, that the floors should be covered by gravel.
At that time the provision of gravel was almost the end of my creation:
The driver of the semitrailer from the town Dimona,
who carried some 30 tons of gravel, wasn't sure about the direction,
nor did he know, that the people in a jeep, whom he asked,
would immediately report to the "Israel Land Administration".
Before anyone could order anything, I went to see the director in Beersheva.
His first words: "Within 8 days you are out! No succahs, nothing will be seen there!"

After half an hour he promised me an agreement for one year....
On the one hand, it was my charm, which had enchanted him,
but so often in the future, this so-called charisma didn't "work".
I've come to believe, that very little depends on my doing.
If it's the right time for a dream to become fulfilled, it will happen,
If it's not the right time, it will not happen,
no matter, what "Abraham" says concerning "vibrational match".

"Ask, and it is given" means
that whether you are a full blossoming genius human,
or whether you are the one-celled amoeba in the ocean,
or a cell in one of your bodies,
when it is concluded that something else is preferred
(no matter how developed the consciousness is)
every time a preference is noted,
Nonphysical Energy rushes forth to answer it.
It is the promise of our evolving beingness

All children came on Pesach 1990,
and the sons
Immanuel, Uri and Micha,
co-created
a structure for a shower.

The idea of a hexagon
- reminiscent of
a 3 dimension Star-of-Daved-
was mine,
and put to use
also in later structures,

in the "Eliezer" cabin
and in the "Yishmael" cabin.

 

 

 

The women contribute
at least this:
they drag the structure
to the appointed spot,
prepared by Micha,
beneath the still uncovered water-tank

It was important to always see our human creations on the background of the grandeur of Nature's creations, like these:


One of the so-called "Waterfalls", though I rarely was present during the hours or just minutes of rain-water falling from them.

The edge of the Ramon Crater, which is closest to the Succayah , is always magnificent, no matter, in what season or in what hour of the day


When viewing the Ramon Crater from above, one wonders, if this is really on Earth.
Moshe Klein, my friend, a mathematician, once mused: all of the present humankind could be packed into the Crater.
