This is a third attempt to trace the
thread of Efrat. See the first: EFRAT-AZUBAH.

ANCESTRY
When my new
daughter-in-love,
who bore the same name Rut as my son Immanuel's first wife,
was given the name Efrat-Rut, Biographical
Intro to "EFRAT"
I rushed to my Bible and my concordance
(I didn't have one on the computer as I do now, in June 2004)
to find out the meaning of this "Canaanite" name,
with which I felt very uncomfortable, to say the least.
I discovered
a "Megilat-Efrat", an "Efrat-Scroll",
just like there is a "Tamar-Scroll",
though the only recognized, official "Scroll" is
Megilat Rut.
"the nagging name Rut"
should be written without an "h", just like "Efrat"!
Moreover, when written with an "h"
the mystical link between Efrat and Rut gets lost in English.
For, as I found out, there is this order of fictitional characters:
T -ama - R [Megilat-Tamar]
ef - R -a T [Megilat-Efrat]
R - u- T [Megilat-Rut].
All these come to transform "Bat-Sheva" ["Megilat"
Bat-Sheva]
The name "Rut", was created out of T-ama -R &
ef-r-a T

Unlike the chapter of Tamar and the novel of Rut
the "story" of Efrat consists of nothing but a few
links
in a seemingly meaningless genealogy.
Chronicle I, chapter 2 , and a little in chapter 4.
Much detective work was necessary
to understand the associations and emotions
from which the Chronicler span a thread,
the female thread of redemption.
I admit, that I did not succeed
in presenting this thread
in a clear, linear, systematical way.
I merely created some bits and pieces,
like this one, "Megilat Efrat",
or like EFRAT-AZUBAH
or like David's
ANCESTRY.
or like Peretz
Of course, all the other "pages" or "links"
are bits and pieces of the same thread, too.
But it's only In my mind and heart and body
that the thread is clearly visible and touchable.

Just like "Efrat", wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grand-mother, so is "my" Efrat tied
into a spacious family.
Here she is with her brother Dani, while the celebrated the birth
of Dani's daughter Shahaf, Efrat's first niece-by-blood.
The marriage to my son Immanuel has given her 3 step-children and
7 step-nieces and nephews,
all in all - 15 new family-members.
The sixteen of us celebrated Pesach 2002 in my flat - with Efrat amidst
her sister-in-love Ronnit, and her kids: Yael and Itamar.
The puzzle of the seating cards on the fridge door gave endless joy
to me and to
the quartet on Grandma's day.
"Gave" - because I'm giving up this flat, this "normal"
flat, granted to me for 3 years, - in 2 days...

we celebrated
"Good-Bye for Grandma",
since I was going
on a "pilgrimage"
to the Pyrenees,
where I got lost
and almost died.
From the present perspective
it was a Good-Bye
to half a year of living
in my tent
in the garden
of Uri and Ronnit,
towards moving into
a "normal flat",
"for three years",
as it has turned out now...
We are still sixteen...
